Two Attachment Points. One Controlled Lift.

When a load is too wide, too uneven, or too awkward for a single hook, a double leg chain sling puts two attachment points under it and distributes the weight across both. That changes the mechanics of the lift — the load stays level, the force is shared, and the margin for error is wider than a single leg configuration allows.

Velebit Lifting supplies double leg chain slings in Grade 80 and Grade 100. Every chain is physically tested after manufacture and ships with a LOLER compliance certificate in the box. Grade 80 covers standard two-point lifting requirements across the majority of industrial applications. Grade 100 carries a higher working load limit within the same chain diameter, giving you more capacity without adding chain weight.

Adjustable Double Leg Chain Slings — What to Know

A 2 leg adjustable chain sling allows the working length of each leg to be modified using a chain shortener, so the sling adapts to different load heights and rigging configurations without replacing the chain. This matters on sites where the same sling is used across multiple lift types and load sizes.

All chain shorteners are available separately across our range. Every chain sling ships with self-locking hooks fitted as standard, manufactured to ISO 9001, BS EN 4570-2005, and LOAC 2012 standards, and fully compliant with the 1998 LOLER regulations.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I use a double leg chain sling instead of a single leg?

A double leg chain sling is the right choice when the load has two attachment points, when the load is too wide or unbalanced for a single hook, or when the lift requires weight distributed across two points for stability. Single leg configurations suit straight vertical lifts with one central attachment point. See our [1 Leg Chain Slings] collection if that applies to your lift.

What is a 2 leg adjustable chain sling?

A 2 leg adjustable chain sling is a two leg chain sling where each leg can be shortened using a chain shortener, allowing the working length to be adjusted for different load heights and rigging setups. This makes it a versatile option on sites where the same sling needs to work across multiple lift configurations.

What grades of double leg chain sling do you supply?

Velebit Lifting supplies Grade 80 and Grade 100 double leg chain slings. Grade 80 covers most standard two-point lifting applications. Grade 100 delivers a higher working load limit within the same chain diameter, suited to demanding operations where Grade 80 reaches its working load ceiling.

Are your two leg chain slings LOLER compliant?

Yes. Every chain sling is physically tested after manufacture in accordance with relevant ISO standards. A LOLER compliance certificate ships in the box with every order.

Do I need two legs or four?

Two leg chain slings distribute load across two attachment points and suit most asymmetric or wide loads. Four leg configurations provide four points of contact and are used where the load geometry or weight requires maximum stability. See our [4 Leg Chain Slings] collection, or browse the [All Chain Slings] page for the full range.
